New UAE Travel Rules - Cash and Jewelry Limits Now in Place

Travelers can now carry a maximum of Dh60,000 in cash or valuable items like gold jewelry and diamonds. If you’re bringing these items, you must declare them using the Afseh app. This rule applies at airports, land borders, and all entry points.

The Afseh app, recognized by UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP), is crucial for declaring valuables worth Dh60,000 or more.

The list of restricted goods includes live animals, plants, fertilizers, and pesticides controlled by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment; weapons, ammunition, explosives, and fireworks overseen by the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, and Ministry of Interior; medicines, drugs, medical equipment, and devices regulated by the Ministry of Health and Prevention; media publications and products under the Ministry of Culture and Youth; nuclear energy products managed by the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation; transmission and wireless devices controlled by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority; alcoholic drinks regulated by the Ministry of Interior and Dubai Police; cosmetics, personal care products, e-cigarettes, and electronic hookahs overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; and new vehicle tyres.
