In a world of ideas and possibilities, the Museum of the Future, situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, is hosting something special this Ramadan – the 'Ramadan Majlis Nights.'
This event is going to be magical, where experts talk about how Islamic ideas can shape the things we'll have in the future. Teaming up with Dubai Future Labs, a lab exploring robots and AI, these nights promise exciting talks by expert speakers.
This event will have interesting sessions all month long. The session, named "Threads of Virtue: Weaving Islamic Principles into the Fabric of Future Innovations," will explore how Islamic traditions affect today's science and rules.
Over three days in Ramadan, this event will bring together experts from different fields. They'll talk about how Islamic ideas shape new inventions and policies, especially in technology and digital transformation.
In the first session, starting March 16, Dr. Roy Casagranda and Dr. Mohamed Qasem will talk about finding the right balance between making new things and doing them in a good way. The featured speakers will be Dr. Mohamed Qasem, the dean of the Dubai Future Academy, and Dr. Roy Casagranda of Austin Community College in the United States.
The second session, on March 23, will focus on making the world a better place. Experts like Dr. Reema Misbah Al Qaruty, a Professor at the University of Dubai, Professor Odeh Al-Jayyousi, Professor of Innovation Policy at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, and Manal Bahman, the Chief Operations Officer at Emirates Nature-WWF and esteemed Advisory Board Member at Sorbonne University's Geography and Planning Department, will share thoughts on how we can use ideas to help the planet within Islam's context.
The third session, on March 30, is all about technology and how it can make our future awesome. Dr. Abdallah Rothman, a respected scholar and counselor known for merging Islamic spirituality with modern technology, and Awad Bin Hasoum Al Darmaki, an author, poet, and scholar will talk about how gadgets and gizmos can help us and the world.
Majed Al Mansoori, the Deputy Executive Director at the Museum of the Future, is really happy about this event. He said:
"We are proud to collaborate with Dubai Future Labs to host this milestone event, which supports the Museum of the Future's aim to be at the centre of future foresight. The Ramadan Majlis Nights support our laser focus on designing and creating the future and reflect our long-term commitment to bringing together interdisciplinary speakers to discuss topics focused on innovation, social responsibility and progress."
