762 New Bus Stops to Transform Dubai's Transit Landscape by 2025

By 2025, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA) plans to build 762 new bus stops in important places throughout the emirate. The purpose of these stops is to give locals and tourists improved transit options.

As part of initial tests, The RTA is trying out new ways, like 3D printing to build some of these stops. ANI, a partner of TV BRICS, talks about this move to more creative construction methods.

The RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) in Dubai made four types of bus stops based on how many people use them:

All these shelters will have shaded areas and spaces for advertisements. They will also have screens showing bus routes, schedules, and other helpful information for passengers. Notably, the major stops are planned to be air-conditioned for added comfort.

The Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, Mattar Al Tayer, highlighted the importance of these new stops in improving city mobility and attracting more people to take public transportation. He underlined the authority's resolve to keep enhancing the public transportation system for the good of all.

The places of operation of the bus stations were carefully selected. They took into account densely populated locations, the current and future usage of buses, the ease with which they connect to other modes of transportation, and the availability of space and infrastructure in those areas. According to Al Tayer, these considerations helped them in choosing the ideal sites for the bus stops.

These bus stations' construction is in line with the RTA's objective to improve transportation infrastructure, which aims to provide accessibility and convenience for city dwellers.
